
Track & Field earns 4 All-American selections at annual NAIA Outdoor Championships
MARION, IN – Benedictine Track & Field returned with 4 All-American finishes at the 44th NAIA Women's and 73rd NAIA Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Mary Lorang was a two-time All-American, placing in both the javelin and discus. Joe Loughman earned All-American honors in the javelin, and Owen Nolte earned All-American honors in the Race Walk.
Lorang took third place in the women's javelin with a throw of 44.07 meters while she placed seventh in the discus with a throw of 44.27 meters.
Loughman and Nolte placed sixth in their respective events. Loughman finished sixth in the men's javelin with a throw of 59.33 meters while Nolte placed sixth in the 5,000-meter Race Walk with a time of 21:49.15.
In addition to the three All-Americans, Benedictine competed in the men's 3,000-meter Steeplechase, where Thomas Campbell placed 19th. Daniel Crossett also competed in the Race Walk for the Raven Men, placing 14th. The Women's 4x800 meter relay team of Josie Jansen, Cecilia Campos, Anna Campbell, and Mary Cate Golden placed 14th, finishing in a time of 9:29.48. Leah Kuhn also competed for the Raven Women in the 5,000 Race Walk, placing 11th with a time of 29:01.19.
