Benedictine College Athletics continues to improve its services related to the health and well-being of our student-athletes.

Raven Athletics has five full-time athletic trainers dedicated to keeping our student-athletes on the field and getting them back on it in a timely manner.

There are three primary athletic training facilities currently used by our various athletic teams - the Mother Teresa Athletic Training and Rehabilitation Center, the John Paul II Student Center Athletic Training Room and the Amino Student Center Athletic Training Room.

Mother Teresa Athletic Training and Rehabilitation Center

The Mother Teresa Athletic Training & Rehabilitation Center caters to the needs of all Benedictine College student-athletes. A photo gallery of the facility can be viewed by clicking on the link located at the top of the page, or the picture at the bottom of the page.

Located on the lower level of the Mother Teresa Nursing Center, the training room is open Monday-Friday 7AM-12PM and 2PM-4PM. Treatment tables, a hydrotherapy room, rehabilitation equipment, and the latest in sports medicine innovations are available to the student-athlete. The Center is well equipped to handle any needs of the student-athlete for the care and prevention of injuries.

With the support of BC’s sports medicine staff, the community’s physicians, and their facilities, student-athletes can compete with the confidence that they are afforded the best care possible.

John Paul II Student Center Athletic Training Room

The John Paul II Student Center Athletic Training Room caters to the needs of women’s volleyball, wrestling, cheerleading, dance, men’s and women’s soccer, lacrosse, and basketball student-athletes.

Located on the lower level of the building, the Training Room is used throughout the academic school year. The Center is well equipped to handle any needs of the student-athlete with the latest available equipment for the care and prevention of injuries.

Amino Student Center Athletic Training Room

The Amino Center Athletic Training Room caters to the needs of football, cheerleading, dance, men’s and women’s track and field and cross country.

Located at the northwest end of campus, the Training Room is stationed adjacent to the Amino Center weight room. The Center is well equipped to handle any needs with the latest available and innovative equipment for the care and prevention of injuries.

Patrick Hodapp came to Benedictine as the assistant athletic trainer but quickly became the head athletic trainer. Before coming to Benedictine College he completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Kansas, where he served as a Student Athletic Trainer and Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer.

He has previously worked for the Kansas Center for Athletic Medicine where he assisted team physicians and local high schools. Patrick served as the athletic training intern for the Kansas City Wizards during the 2000 Champion season and returned as the part-time Certified Athletic trainer in the 2001 and 2003 seasons.

As the Head Athletic Trainer, Patrick is responsible for the overall well-being of the student-athletes. Focusing on prevention, care, treatment, and rehabilitation of the more than 450 student-athletes at Benedictine College. Patrick also assists the Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) as a clinical instructor and academic instructor.


Jarod Crowley MSEd, LAT/ATC

Jarod Crowley has served as an assistant trainer at Benedictine since 2003. Prior to beginning his career at BC, Jarod earned a double major in Athletic training and Physical Education at Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. While a senior at Graceland, he also obtained the credential of Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

After college, Jarod interned at Neosho County Community College in Chanute. While there, he obtained his Athletic Training Certification in the fall of 2001 and was hired on as a full-time staff Athletic Trainer.

In the fall of 2002, Jarod returned to Graduate School at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville Missouri where he obtained his Masters of Education with an emphasis in Athletic Administration.

As the Assistant Athletic Trainer, Jarod's main duties include the care, prevention, and rehabilitation of the student-athlete population here at Benedictine College. Jarod also assists in the Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) as a clinical and academic instructor.

Catherine Daniel joined Benedictine College in 2017 as an Athletic Trainer to primarily work with the Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams. Catherine is a national board Certified Athletic Trainer, licensed in the state of Kansas, and an active member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and Kansas City Athletic Trainers’ Society.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 2015. She received her Master of Adult and Post-Secondary Education from the University of Saint Mary in May 2017. While at the University of Saint Mary, she served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for the women’s volleyball and women’s softball teams and assisted with football and men’s and women’s track and cross country. Catherine currently serves as an Adjunct Instructor at her Alma Mater, teaching courses within the Athletic Training and Kinesiology Departments at the University of Saint Mary.

Christopher Danly joined the Raven Athletic Department in the Summer of 2021 as the newest member of the Athletic Training Staff. Danly previously served as a graduate assistant for the department.

Originally from Tyler, Texas, Danly is an alumnus of Benedictine College and completed his Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training at Benedictine in the fall of 2019. That same year, he became a national board-Certified Athletic Trainer, licensed in the state of Kansas. Immediately after completing my Bachelor’s degree, he joined the staff as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Benedictine for softball and men’s and women’s track and field and assisted with the football team.

Danly earned my Master’s of Business Administration degree from Benedictine College in the spring of 2021 and will continue to work with men's and women's track & field and football.

Maya Barker joined the athletic training staff in the Summer of 2022 and primarily works with the men’s and women’s soccer teams, and baseball. Maya has been a Board Certified Athletic Trainer since 2022, licensed in the state of Kansas. 

A native of Des Moines, Iowa, Maya earned her Bachelor of Arts in Health and Human Physiology with an emphasis on Health Studies from the University of Iowa in the Spring of 2020. She then went on to earn her Master of Science in Athletic Training from Grand View University in the Spring of 2022. 

Prior to Benedictine College, Maya served as an athletic trainer for Select Medical in the Des Moines metro where she assisted local high school and collegiate events.

Alisha Frierdich joined the athletic training staff in the Summer of 2022 and primarily works with Volleyball and Softball. Alisha has been a Board Certified Athletic Trainer since 2018, licensed in the state of Kansas. 

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 2018. She then went on to earn her Master of Science in Fitness Management from Missouri Baptist University in 2020. While at MoBap, she served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer working with women’s basketball and football.

Trella Davis joined the athletic training staff in the Summer of 2023 and primarily works with the men’s and women’s lacrosse teams and football. Trella has been a Board Certified Athletic Trainer since 2023, licensed in the state of Kansas, and an active member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.

A native of Scott City, KS, Trella earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training with a secondary major in gerontology from Kansas State University in the Spring of 2021. She then went on to earn her Master of Science in Athletic Training from Kansas State University in the Spring of 2023.
