Benedictine College campus and athletic facilities
Benedictine College is not only home to a beautiful campus, but the Raven Athletic Department also continues to improve its facilities to keep them as some of the best in the region.
While we certainly hope to see you on campus for a visit – which can be scheduled through our admissions office or through the coach you are speaking with – we would like to offer a glimpse of campus through two available opportunities in the meantime:

Dugan Jones Court and Ralph Nolan Gymnasium
The Raven Men's Basketball, Raven Women's Basketball, and Raven Volleyball teams practice and play inside the Ralph Nolan Gymnasium on Dugan Jones court The gymnasium is located inside the Joh Paul II Student Center at the center of the Benedictine campus.
In recent years, the Nolan Gymnasium has seen upgrades in seating, lighting, and new sound system along with an updated scoreboard and video board system. All of the upgrades have been made in an effort to provide the best gameday experience possible for our players and fans during games and have given men's basketball, women's basketball and volleyball one of the best homecourt advantages in the Heart of America Athletic Conference and the NAIA.

The coaches' offices for all three sports are located in the Dugan Office Suite, on the second floor of the Student Union. All three offices for each head coach, have a window that opens up to the gymnasium and gives each coach a great angle to display their pride in the facility.
The Pit, located as the south end of the gymnasium, serves as the primary seating section for the Benedictine students and adds a great home-court advantage for all three teams.
Legacy Field and John Casey Soccer Center
The Raven Men's Soccer, Raven Women's Soccer, Raven Men's Lacrosse and Raven Women's Lacrosse teams call Legacy Field home. Rebranded to Legacy Field in the Fall of 2019, the turf playing surface was upgraded in the Summer of 2019 to continue to improve the playing experience for all four teams who utilize Legacy Field as their home. Additionally, the Athletic Department continued its commitment to increasing the gameday experience at Legacy Field with the installation of new seating along the east side of the field and with the installation of a new scoreboard and video board on the south side of the complex.
Located on the east side of the complex, the John Casey Soccer Center allowed for the soccer programs to relocate their offices and locker rooms to the complex in the fall of 2013.
The bottom floor of the Casey Soccer Center houses the locker rooms for both programs with the men's locker room housed on the north side while the women's locker room is housed on the south. The top floor featured a press box area used on gamedays while the back half of the top floor houses the offices for both soccer programs. The press box doubles as a lounge for meeting recruits and hosting visitors to campus.
The facility was given lights for the first time during the Summer of 2008 and soccer became the first outdoor Benedictine sport to be played on campus at night. Those lights were upgraded in the summer of 2019 as part of our continued commitment to keeping our facilities the best in the region.
O'Malley Field at Larry Wilcox Stadium and Amino Center
The crowning jewel of the Raven football program is O’Malley Field at Larry Wilcox Stadium. FieldTurf™ was originally installed for the 2008 season and was upgraded to a new version of the product for the 2019 season. The field was renamed O’Malley Field during the 2012 season in recognition of the years of support by the O’Malley family to Raven football and Benedictine College.
Larry Wilcox Stadium has become known as one of the best home-field advantages in small-college football.
New chair-back seats were installed in spring 2018 as the Athletic Department continues to upgrade the fan experience. The stadium not only offers Raven fans a great view of the game from every seat, but it also delivers a breathtaking view of St. Benedict’s Abbey, located on the southeast side of the field.
The stadium was built with fans in mind. The seats face toward the east, which means the fall sun will be either directly above the seats or behind the stadium during games so fans never miss a down of Raven football.
Over the course of the last few years, the Amino Center complex has gone through some major renovations.
In 2004, two meeting rooms were added to give the Ravens large meeting spaces. The facility houses the coaches’ offices, the Ravens football locker room, and an outstanding weight room.
In 2007, a renovation gave each coach a personal office space and created a more welcoming environment for recruits and visitors.
The hallway has become a Hall of Honor for the program with a large display case and pictures of the Ravens Heart Defensive and Offensive Players of the Year. Various pictures of the history of the program, including a picture of former Raven and NAIA Hall of Famer, Jamie Mueller from his time with the Buffalo Bills are located in the hallway and along the outside walls of the meeting rooms.
Overall, upgrades over the past several years have allowed the program to showcase the best aspects of Benedictine College football.
The Raven weight room features state-of-the-art Hammer free-weight equipment. This equipment allows the Raven staff to fully optimize their ground-based, close kinetic chain philosophy of strength and conditioning. The weight room also includes a complete double set of dumbbells ranging up to 140 pounds; the dumbbells are used extensively in unilateral, stability, and core-strengthening exercises.
Raven athletes are able to use the weight facility at their convenience. It consists of two large rooms that can be accessed from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., seven days a week.
Asher Sports Complex
Laughlin Field at Olsen Stadium
The Raven Baseball team played their first game on Laughlin Field at Olsen Stadium on March 7, 2015, as the program moved to the Northside of campus into the newly constructed Asher Sports Complex.
The Asher Sports Complex was made possible by the donation of land to the North of Larry Wilcox Stadium by the Asher family, long-time supporters of the college.
Laughlin Field originally had a FieldTurf infield as well as turf in foul territory down both the left field and right field foul lines with a grass outfield. Heading into the Spring of 2023 the field got a complete makeover replacing all of the turf while adding turf to the outfield.
From the bleachers on the third-base side, visitors have a great view of campus along with the Abbey beyond the facility and O'Malley Field.
The team has access to two full-sized batting cages as well as a double-mound bullpen for practices and warm-ups.
Laughlin Field sits on the south side of the Asher Sports Complex and fans are greeted by the Olsen Stadium press box and bleacher seating.
Benedictine Softball Field
Like the Raven Baseball team, the Raven Softball team has also moved to the north side of campus inside the newly constructed Asher Sports Complex.
Located on the north side of the complex, the new Ravens Field features a section of stadium seating for fans as well as additional seating down both the first base and third baselines between the stadium seating and the dugouts.
Raven Softball now has access to its own two-tunnel batting cage as well as a full bullpen for practice and warm-up during games.
In the fall of 2023, the facility upgraded the outfield to FieldTurf to make the playing surface completely turfed.
When sitting inside the stadium, fans will not only enjoy a great view of the game but a breathtaking view of campus along with the Abby.
Parking for the Asher Sports Complex is located in the main lot next to the Amino Center with access to Olsen Stadium and the BC Softball Field through the concourse of Larry Wilcox Stadium and then through a gate on the southwest corner of the complex.
Laughlin Track
Laughlin Track is home to the Raven Men's and Women's Track & Field programs. The eight-lane track surrounds O'Malley Field. A shot put pit along with long jump, triple jump, and pole vault lanes is located to the south of the track. The discus ring is located on the northwest corner of the practice football field, which is located above Larry Wilcox Stadium on the west side of the track.
The Haverty Center
The Haverty Center, located above the John Paul Student Center is home to the Raven Strength & Conditioning Program as well as the Raven Wrestling Room and the Old Gymnasium. Two racquetball courts are located above the gymnasium on the south side of the building. Additionally, the cheer program's practice facility is housed on what was the old stage area on the north side of the gymnasium.
During the school year, the Old Gym space is split for student use and as a secondary workout facility for all of our athletic programs. The playing floor of the Old Gymnasium was restored to its glory days several years ago and with upgrades to the goals, the basketball teams are able to use the space for practice during times of the year when both teams, as well as volleyball, need access for practice.
Mother Teresa Center
In addition to housing Benedictine's Nursing Program, the Mother Teresa Center serves as the home for the primary Athletic Training Facility and Athletic Department Office.
Located on the basement level, Benedictine's many student-athletes have access to top-level care and prevention and rehab spaces located inside the main athletic training facility.
