The Benedictine College Student Athlete Leadership Team developed the Raven Creed in the Spring of 2024 to share how our student-athletes can display the Values and Characteristics of a Raven developed by the College – https://www.benedictine.edu/about/values. Each part of the creed uses characteristics that spell out Ravens.

Ravens are resilient, demonstrating responsibility and respect in faith, in academic endeavors, and in athletic pursuits. Others can rely on Ravens to give their best in any situation. 

Ravens achieve excellence in all areas of their lives, overcoming adversity when needed in order to achieve excellence. Ravens are aware of the world around them and are ambitious to make it a better place for all through their positive actions. 

Ravens are virtuous, as they value relationships with God, teammates, coaches, and community members. Ravens understand that being vulnerable takes valiant effort and is essential to victory. 

Ravens are enthusiastic, giving energy and effort to all tasks, even those tasks that are challenging and difficult. Ravens use effective communication to share ideas and encouragement as they strive for excellence in all of their endeavors. 

Ravens embrace a “never-give-up” attitude, as they navigate school, sports, faith, and relationships. They naturally encourage one another, noting how necessary it is to stay committed to their values and their goals. 

Ravens are strong sportsmen and sportswomen, striving to give their best effort with their spirit and their skills. Ravens serve others with their selfless support of teammates, Benedictine College, and the greater Atchison community.
