Football hosts MNU for Senior Day & Atchison Community Day on Saturday

Raven Football wraps up the season on Saturday at 1 p.m. as they host the MNU Pioneers for Senior Day and Atchison Community Day on O'Malley Field at Larry Wilcox Stadium.

Senior Day recognition will take place prior to the game and we will be joined by a special Atchison community guest for the opening coin toss. Additionally, Benedictine will welcome special guests from the Atchison community during halftime to recognize the ongoing relationship between Benedictine and Atchison.

The Match-Up: The meeting between the Ravens and the Pioneers marks the 38th meeting between the two programs with Benedictine leading that series 22-15. Benedictine earned a 43-14 win over the Pioneers on the road last year on Halloween. Benedictine brings a five-game winning streak into Saturday's meeting with MNU. The last win for the Pioneers came on Sept. 19, 2015, in Olathe, 41-17. Over their current winning streak, the Ravens have won three games at home, most recently a 50-14 win during the 2019 season.

About Benedictine: Benedictine leads the Heart in scoring and scoring per game. Through 10 games, they have scored a total of 399 points for a 39.9 point per game average. ... They rank third overall in the Heart in total offense at 4,272 yards and are second in the Heart South in the same category with 1,682 yards in four conference games. ... Entering Saturday's game, punter Matt Heinrich is averaging 41.7 yards per attempt with 22 punts for a total of 918 yards. He leads the Heart into punt average, but is not listed among the NAIA leaders based on the minimums set by the NAIA. ... In last week's win over Evangel, Jalen James became the second player in program history to reach 400 career tackles. He enters play Saturday with 403 total tackles in 56 career games. 

About MNU: The Pioneers rank fifth in the Heart in scoring and scoring per game with a total of 318 points and 31.8 points per game average. ... MNU leads the Heart overall in passing yards with 3,056 yards and the Heart South with 1,161 yards. They are averaging over 305 yards passing through 10 games. ... Blake Atkins has led the passing game for the Pioneers this season with 2,165 yards and an average of 216.5 yards per game. He has 20 touchdown passes with 5 interceptions. ... Caleb Tanis is the Pioneers leading receiver with 1,117 yards at 117.7 yards per game. He leads the NAIA in receiving touchdowns with 20 while his 117.7-yard average ranks third. ... While the Pioneers do have a high-flying offense, they have allowed 33 sacks this season compared to just 8 sacks on defense.
