Men's Basketball takes care of Culver-Stockton

Men's Basketball nearly led from start to finish at home Saturday afternoon.

The Ravens defeated the Culver-Stockton College Wildcats, 72-61, to pick up their 8th win of the season.

The Wildcats scored the opening basket of the game, but the Ravens quickly took the lead and maintained it for the rest of the afternoon.

The Ravens were strong inside in the opening 20 minutes. They scored 24 points in the paint to take a 40-31 lead into the halftime break, shooting 51.5% from the field. The Ravens also outrebounded the Wildcats 21-15 in the first half and were able to get out and run a bit, scoring 8 fast-break points.

The Ravens kept the Wildcats at arms-reach in the second half, not allowing C-SC to get any closer than 7 points early in the second half. The Ravens continuously made plays on both ends of the court to keep the Wildcats from ever making a run.

Preston Reynolds scored a team-high 16 points and added 4 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists. Also in double figures was Jack Vander Woude, who scored 14 and knocked in four 3-pointers, Deaglan Sullivan with 11 points, and Gino Corridori with 10 points. Haggan Hilgendorf scored 9 points to go along with 7 rebounds, Corridori had 6 boards, and Sullivan dished out 4 assists. Harrison Kisling came off the bench and assisted on five baskets – as a team the Ravens had 18 assists compared to just 9 for the Wildcats.

Next up for the Ravens (8-16, 7-13 Heart) is a road trip that begins at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12 at Missouri Valley College.
