Siena Heights holds off fourth-quarter comeback from Men's Lacrosse

ADRIAN, Mich. – Benedictine Men's Lacrosse outscored Siena Heights University 6-4 in the fourth quarter, but the fourth-quarter comeback fell just short as the Saints held off the fourth-quarter push from the Ravens to earn a 14-11 win.

The two teams matched either in the second quarter with 3 goals each as the Saints took a 7-4 lead into the half. 

By the time the game reached the fourth quarter, Benedictine trailed 10-5. Aiden Nicholson got the Ravens comeback effort started as the Ravens scored three straight with the Nicholson goal followed by one from Mac Postel Jr. and another from Hope. After Siena Heights scored its first goal of the quarter, Jonah Salem and Postel Jr. pulled the Ravens within one, 11-10, with just under 7 minutes left in the game.

Siena Heights outscored the Ravens 3-1 down the stretch to hold off the fourth-quarter push by Benedictine and earned the win.

Hope led the Ravens in scoring with 3 goals, followed by Postel Jr., and Salem with 2. Mason Eberle joined Nicholson with 1 goal each. Irving was joined with 1 assist by Jacob Meyer, Luke Reger, Salem, Keegan Lindsay and Wyatt Haverstick with 1 assist each.

The Ravens finished the game with 14 caused turnovers defensively. Jack Northrup and Charley McGlinn led the way with 3 each, followed by Postel Jr., Nicholson, and Malcom Castronova with 2 each. 

CJ Besuzzi went the distance in goal for the Ravens, finishing with 6 saves in the loss.

The Ravens wrap up their Spring Break trip on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Livonia, Mich., with a 1 p.m. game against No. 6 Madonna.
