Indoor Season opens for Track & Field at Mal Tjeerdsma Classic
MARYVILLE, Mo. – The indoor season got underway on Saturday for Benedictine Track & Field as the program took on the field at the annual Mel Tjeerdsma Classic hosted by Northwest Missouri State University.
For the Raven Women, Madison Sutton met the NAIA "A" standard in the Weight Throw with a distance of 16.39 meters. She placed third overall in the event for the Ravens.
Benedictine went 1-2-3 in the Women's Pole Vault, with Samantha Rosga taking first, MaryKate Najvar taking second and Naomi Welsh taking third. Maria Connealy placed fourth in the Triple Jump. Catherine Aaron and Emily Zoque placed fourth and fifth in the 3000 Meters.
For the Raven Men, Blue Capplinger placed fifth in the 300 meters. Daniel Rogge placed fifth in the 600 yards while Jackson Neppl placed sixth in the 600 yards. David Mannella placed sixth in the 3000 meters. Calvin Benson placed sixth in the 60 hurdles. The 4x400 Relay of Daniel Rogge, Avery Cozzi, Joshua Lacroix, and Caplinger took fifth. Joel Bichelmayer placed fourth in the Long Jump.
