Jackson Perkins earns second Heart weekly honors for Wrestling

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Men's Wrestler of the Week award, presented by Musco on Monday afternoon.

Benedictine Wrestling's Jackson Perkins earned the award after a strong week for the Ravens.

The freshman defeated No. 1 Grand View's Lucas Hageman in the 184-pound bout of the dual between Grand View and Benedictine, in a 14-8 decision on Wednesday. He followed that up with a 10-1 major decision in his dual match against (RV) Baker

He posted a 5-0 record at the Conner/Oppenheim Open on Saturday, hosted by Doane. He won by Tech Fall, 15-0, over Tanner Fuller of Iowa Western Community College, in the 184-pound championship match.
