Track & Field competes at Mel Tjeerdsma Classic at Northwest Missouri State

MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Indoor Track season continued over the weekend as the Raven Track & Field Program members competed in the annual Mel Tjeerdsma Classic hosted by Northwest Missouri State University.

The day for the Raven Women was anchored by a strong showing of the 600-yard run and the Mile. Gemma Downey won the Mile while Siena Michael and Catherine Aaron placed fourth and seventh respectively. In the 600, Alison Ambuul placed second while Tatiana Smith took sixth.

For the Raven Men, Joseph Accrues took fourth place in the Mile while Gustav Kussman was a top finisher in the 60-meter hurdles taking sixth place. 

The competition at the Tjeerdsma Classic is the final scheduled competition for the program until the new year. They will return to Northwest Missouri State on Saturday, Jan. 21 to compete in the Northwest Open.
