Indoor track wraps up regular season at Bearcat Invite, Wildcat Open

Benedictine Indoor Track wrapped up their regular-season competition over the weekend with athletes splitting between the Wildcat Open at Wayne State University and the Bearcat Invite at Northwest Missouri State University.

The Women's Distance Medley Relay team of Mary Cate Golden, Cayna Love, Cecilia Campos, and Catherine Aaron took sixth place at the Bearcat Invite hitting the NAIA B Standard with a time of 12:22.68.

At the Wildcat Open, Thomas Campbell took first place in the 1,000 meters to headline the men's results for the weekend.

Gemma Downey - 1,000 meters - fifth place
Helen Ullrich - 1,000 meters - eighth place
Distance Medley Relay (Mary Cate Golden, Cayna Love, Cecilia Campos, Catherine Aaron) - sixth place (NAIA B Standard)
Madison Helton - triple jump - fifth place

Men's Results:
Distance Medley Relay (Joseph Accurso, Blue Caplinger, Gabriel Joerger, Thomas Campbell) - eighth place

Thomas Campbell - 1,000 meters - first place
Gabriel Joerger - 1,000 meters - third place
Blake Dapkus - 60-meter hurdles - fourth place; long jump - fifth place
Dominic Liess - 800 meters - seventh place
Orlando Zepeda - high jump - second place; long jump - sixth place

The annual Heart Indoor Track Championships returns to Maryville, Mo., at Northwest Missouri State on Friday and Saturday. Benedictine is the defending Heart Champion in both the women's and men's divisions.
