Women's Indoor track earns second-place finish at annual Heart Indoor Track Championships

MARYVILLE, Mo. – Benedictine Women's Indoor Track earned a runner-up finish on Saturday at the annual Heart of America Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships held at the Highest Fieldhouse on the campus of Northwest Missouri State University.

Benedictine scored 162 points to secure second place behind Heart Champions Central Methodist University, which scored 209 points. Mount Mercy University scored 100 points to round out the top three team finishes. 

The Ravens earned one individual event championship and two relay championships. Leah Kuhn won the 3,000-meter Race Walk. The 4x800 meter relay team of Josie Jansen, Cecilia Campos, Gemma Downey and Mary Cate Golden along with the Distance Medley Relay of Helen Ullrich, Anna Campbell, German Downey, and Catherine Aaron earned first-place results. The Ravens earned a total of 33 all-conference selections in this year's championships. 

The breakdown for all-conference selections is first place = first team, second place = second team, and third place = third team. Fourth, fifth, and sixth-place finishers all earn honorable mention all-conference honors.
