
Women's Country takes second at Heart Championships
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Women's Country took second place on Saturday as the annual Heart Women's Cross Country Championship, 13 points short of the program's fifth straight conference title.
Mount Mercy was able to un-seed the Ravens scoring 36 points as they were able to edge out Benedictine for the championship.
Benedictine was paced by Emilie Nelson, who took fifth place overall with a time of 23:38. She was followed by Catherine Aaron in sixth, Julia McLaughlin in seventh, May Cate Golden in 15th and Helen Ullrich in 16th. Alexa Lamb finished in 18th, followed by Cecelia Campos in 20th to round out the Ravens efforts.
Nelson, Aaron, and McLaughlin earned first-team All-Heart honors for their top-10 finishes. Golden was named honorable mention.
