KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Men's Soccer picked up their first win of the season on Wednesday night against former conference opponent Avila University.
Benedictine made the trip down to the Avila campus and returned with a 22-11 advantage in shots en route to a 2-0 win over the Eagles.
Robert Mike Keon put the Ravens on the board during the 33rd minute of play when he scored on a rebound. Dylan Posada was credited with the assist after he missed his chance that rebounded off the Avila keeper to Keon for the goal.
Benedictine held their 1-0 advantage through the half and added to their lead during the 87th minute. Eliah Froeyland put the Ravens up 2-0 off an assist from both JJ Johannsen and Diego Acuna.
The Ravens limited the Eagles to just 2 shots in the second half despite being a man down for the entire half. Benedictine finished with a 22-11 advantage in shots while they registered 10 shots on goal.
Noah Reuscher played the first half in goal, tallying 3 saves to earn the win while Carlos Flores played the final 45 minutes with 1 save.
Benedictine remains on the road for their third straight match, traveling to Columbia, Mo., on Saturday to take on Columbia College at 2:30 p.m.
