Men's Soccer falls to Clarke, 4-0

Men's Soccer dropped a tough one Friday night at home.

The (RV) Ravens lost to the Clarke University Pride, 4-0, after falling behind in the opening minutes.

The Pride set the tone early, slipping a goal under the arms of Ravens keeper Noah Reuscher in the 3rd minute to go up 1-0.

Clarke doubled their lead in the 18th minute, connecting on a corner kick to take a 2-0 lead.

An unfortunate bounce gave the Pride a 3-0 lead in the first half as a Raven defender's sliding attempt at a clear deflected the ball into the goal. Clarke maintained that advantage through the rest of the opening half.

The Ravens tried to find an answering goal in the second half, but it was the Pride who added one more in the 62nd minute for the game's final goal and the 4-0 win.

The Ravens matched the Pride with 7 shots on goal but were unable to capitalize on their chances like the Pride. The Ravens were whistled for offside seven times as they tried to push forward for scoring chances.

Reuscher finished the contest with 3 saves.

Next up for the Ravens (8-4-3, 3-2-3 Heart) will be a Wednesday, Oct. 23 home contest against No. 22 Central Methodist University.
