Makenzie Korzencki earns second straight Heart weekly honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the second straight week, and third time this season, Makenzie Korzencki has earned weekly honors from the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

Korzenecki was named the Heart Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, presented by WinWon, for her efforts in the Ravens 2-0-0 finish to the regular season last week.

On Wednesday, Korzenecki finished with 5 saves in the Ravens 3-2 upset over (6) Central Methodist University. She followed up that outing with 4 saves in a 1-0 win over William Penn University on Saturday in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Korzencki has played every minute in goal for the Ravens this season, finishing the regular season at 1620 minutes in goal. She has 10 shutouts this season with 63 saves, 15 goals allowed, a 0.83 goals-against average and a .808 save percentage.

The Ravens finished the regular season at 9-2-0 in Heart play with Korzencki earning 7 shutouts in Heart play. They have earned 24 points and finished in a tie for second place with Central Methodist University. With the win over the Eagles last week, the Ravens hold the tiebreaker and should be the No. 2 seed in the Heart Championship Tournament scheduled to start on Nov. 5.
