(RV) Women's Soccer earns 11th trip to NAIA National Championship

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Benedictine Women's Soccer has punched its ticket for the second straight season into the NAIA National Tournament as they earned an at-large berth into the first and second round.

The Ravens will travel to Grand Rapids, Mich., to take on Concordia (Neb.) University in the Grand Rapids Bracket as the winner will advance to take on bracket host (6) Aquinas College.

Benedictine and Concordia will take the field on Nov. 21. The winner will advance to the second round and the match with Aquinas on Nov. 23.

The Ravens earned an at-large berth after going 13-6-1 overall. They are making their 11th appearance and have a 14-9-3 overall championship record. The Bulldogs earned their berth as the GPAC regular-season runner-up after finishing with an overall record of 13-6-1. They have made their third appearance and first since 2020 and are 0-2-0 overall in the championship.

The two teams played during the regular season in Seward, Neb., where Benedictine earned a 2-0 win on Sept. 11. This is also the second time the two teams have met in the NAIA postseason. Benedictine hosted Concordia on Nov. 22, 2014, in the previous championship format of a one-game opening round. The Ravens earned a 4-0 win over the Bulldogs in that match.

The Heart of America Athletic Conference is one of four conferences in the NAIA to qualify at least four programs for this year's national championships. Central Methodist University also earned an at-large, Missouri Valley College earned the automatic berth as the Heart regular-season champion and MNU earned the Heart Tournament champion automatic berth.

The winner of the Grand Rapids Bracket advances to the host site of the 41st annual Women's Soccer National Championship, held this year at the Ashton Brosnaham Soccer Complex in Pensacola, Fla.
