(RV) Volleyball finishes Heart cross-division play 7-0 with wins over Graceland, Peru State

Benedictine Volleyball won its final two road matches of the Heart schedule on Friday and Saturday.

The Ravens won 3-0 over Graceland University on Friday and beat Peru State College 3-1 on Saturday to finish Heart cross-division play at 7-0.

Against Graceland, the Ravens finished with 36 kills. Hokulani Sagapolu finished with 9 kills, followed by Mahala Sewell and Maura Lickteig with 8. Haley Cahill finished with 25 assists as the Ravens finished with 33 as a team.

Sagapolu was the leader in digs with 13, followed by Cahill and Kelly DeMeulenaere with 7. Licktieg had 3 block assists and 1 solo block while Regan Bruggeman added 3 block assists.

Against Peru State, the Ravens overcame a 27-25 loss in the opening set to beat the Bobcats.

The Ravens led 57 kills and a .231 attack percentage with a match-high 17 kills in the fourth set. Sewell led the attack with 16 kills and Winny Harris with 14. Bruggeman and Sagapolu finished with 10 kills each to give the Ravens four players in double figures on the attack. Cahill finished with 55 assists – accounting for every assist in the four-set win.

DeMeulenaere led four players in double figures in digs with 21. Sagapolu recorded a double-double with 16 digs, followed by Cate Milroy with 15 and Cahill with 13. Harris finished with 2 solo blocks and 3 block assists while Cahill added 3 block assists.

Benedictine closes out the regular season on Tuesday, hosting Missouri Valley College at 7 p.m. as they look to lock in their seeding for the Heart Conference Tournament that begins at campus sites on Nov. 9.
