
Harris, Hurtt headline Seven All-Conference selections for Volleyball
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Seven members of the (RV) Benedictine Volleyball team have been named to the 2024 All-Heart Women's Volleyball team with two additional individual honors going to head coach Victoria Hurtt and senior Winny Harris.
Harris has been named the Heart Women's Volleyball Attacker of the Year while Coach Hurtt has been named the Heart Women's Volleyball Head Coach of the Year.
Harris was also named to the first team, where Hakulani Sagapolu and Evelyn Arreola joined her. Three Ravens earned second-team honors in Regan Bruggeman, Maura Lickteig, and Haley Cahill. Mahala Sewell rounded out the Ravens earning all-conference honors this year earning a spot on the honorable mention team.
Benedictine posted an overall record of 25-7 through the end of the regular season while winning the 2024 Heart Women's Volleyball Conference Tournament Championship.
Through the end of the Heart Tournament, Harris leads the conference in attack percentage at .312. She averages 2.36 kills per set with 285 kills. She also has 18 solo blocks and 72 block assists with a 0.74 blocks per set average. Coach Hurtt led the Ravens to the program's second-most wins since 2006 at 25. A win in the Opening Round of the NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship on Saturday would tie the program high since of 26 wins that came during the 2009 season.
Sagapolu currently leads the Ravens in kills with 326 with an average of 2.69 per set. She is also among the team leaders in digs with 475 at an average of 3.93 per set. She also has 16 solo blocks and 43 block assists. Arreola is second in the Heart in digs per set at 5.34 with a total of 587.
Bruggeman is second on the team in kills with 316 at 2.61 per set with an attack percentage of .203. She also recorded 54 total blocks so far this season with 48 block assists. Lickeig leads the Ravens in blocks with a total of 101. She recorded 18 solo blocks with 83 block assists at an average of 0.83. Offensively, Lickteig has 236 kills with an average of 1.95 per set with an attack percentage of .274. Cahill ranks fourth in the Heart in assists with 946 at an average of 7.82 per set. She is also averaging 2.34 digs per set with a total of 15 blocks. She leads the Heart in service aces with 59 and an average of 0.49 per set.
Sewell recorded 308 kills in 120 sets, averaging 2.57 kills per set as she ranked third on the team behind Sagapolu and Bruggeman in total kills. She has an attack percentage of .204.
The Ravens travel to The Master's University on Saturday for the Opening Round of the 45th annual NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship. They play the Mustangs at 8 p.m. with links to the stream and live stats available at www.ravenathletics.com/composite.
